"Better to write for yourself and have no public, then write for the public and have no self."
Cyril Connolly.
My Name is Sarah Jane. I am nothing special. I work in a normal, boring little shop, just trying to getting by.
I was told in a interview once that I have a colourful life...
I've worked in theatre, pubs, clubs, retail.
My career paths, (If you can call them that. To me they have just been jobs, paying the bills) have been. They are the fireworks of colour in a life of shades of black and grey.
I started this blog back in 2012, I was not even sure what I was going to put on it for a while. It wasn't until I found some old College Performing Arts notes, Art and Graphics work that I decided to put on here.
It then lead to me to set up a blog just for all my art and then another as an on line portfolio for my visual merchandising as well as all the notes that I have collected working as a visual merchandiser,
Being dyslexic, I have always been a very slow reader and struggled with spelling the most. So as I was typing up some of the stuff I was finding so many mistakes, missed out words and words mixed up and the computer was finding even more. And I was also starting to notice that the most simplest words I was get the letters mixed up again like I had in school.
It makes me angry when people think that I am unable or incapable to do a job correctly just because I am dyslexic. Or they put it down to 'a dyslexics moment', or their consent comments of how bad my spelling is. I can't help it... Its just the way I am. And dictionary's only help so far. So I bit lip and try not to let it get to me that much.
I always enjoyed creative writing at school, and during the slow times during work I would write short little pomes. All of which ended up in the bin.
So I decided to let my imagination run.
So through out this blog you will come across bad spelling, punctuation and grammar. along with words in the wrong place and some that are missing.
Sorry but this is me.
I write for me, and draw for me. It is my way of escaping, and keeping my mind busy.
I don't make any money from it. It would be nice too but you can't have every thing.
I kinda hope that people like my blog.
I dont do criticism very well so I'd rather not no.
Its frustrating. I can remember every follow spot and LX que from shows that I worked on in 2000 yet I can not remember how to spell things or the times table off the top of my head.
"If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way."

I've been working on some short stores. One of witch is on here, Diary of Depression. The other three I will post when they are completed (ish).
As I have been writing them I have found myself putting together the casts. With Hugh Laurie, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tom Hiddleston. Yep I'm that crazy. I don't care.
I have a playlist of songs that inspire each piece of work.
And note pads full of notes and ideas. Most will properly never come to be more then just scribbled notes. but hay, you never no.
I find myself doing a lot of drawing and writing. It keeps my mind busy, other wise I can find that I get depressed If my mind is not stimulated. Which is not good. With my job I have found that the shop can be extremely slow, which has meant I have got myself a fast growing book case of sketchbooks and note books.
